It aims to find out the gaps between the skills and knowledge possessed, and the skills and knowledge required to help the company achieve business goals. The analysis attempts to identify specific skills, abilities and knowledge required for certain job roles, and areas where there might be a shortage of them and help develop strategies to bridge these gaps.
